Ethics and Psychology
The Milgram and Standford prison experiment fueled controversy and added to the debate over ethical boundaries in psychology.
Today you will watch a small documentary on the Standford experiment. Reflect on ethical boundaries- where did you feel a line had been crossed? How did you know? Was it a gut reaction, similar to the visiting psychologist or a cognitive, rational judgement?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=760lwYmpXbc#t=423
Have an excellent weekend!
ps...you have a quiz on Monday

Almost done and over with love...but not quite!
Harlow ....we need to finish the video and articulate his research question.
Ok...write up five questions and be ready to ask your questions in the wider community.
How many people would you like to question? Students? Teachers?
10-15
Before you start, is there a burning question that you want to understand at a deeper level? Think about the Halo Effect, scent and love and Harlow's experiment.
This would be your hypothesis and you are organising a small survey for your research....more later! 10 marks for complete survey

Valentine's Day
To love or not to love. That is the question.
We will watch two clips on love, or rather, the attraction factor that might lead to love.
As you watch, note down any questions that you might have or any aspect of the clips that incite your curiosity.
Our goal is to write five questions to ask our school community today, Valentine's Day.
And to clarify the difference between qualitative research and quantitative research.
Ask yourself, how can you best learn about the psychology of love:
through qualitative or quantitative research?
